![]() ![]() Step 6 says, "Check if the package is registered with the Package Manager. Aside from the fact that I'm not using an old emulator (I'm on 31.2.10.0), I'm part way through following those steps, and it's starting to behave differently, and I'm not sure I want to proceed. ![]() I also found this more complicated gist, " A step by step guide to upgrade webview on an old Android Emulator". Although the rest of the commands all seem to be executed, the end result is that it's still the same WebView that was installed with the system. Specifically, the third step in the answer is to remove the system app: # Uninstall the webview app manually and reboot the deviceįirst of all, it complains that I need to be root, but after adb root, the two rm commands appear to work (i.e., they don't issue any error message), but both before and after the reboot the directories are still there. The later does have a new-ish answer from only a little over a year ago, but it's not working for me. The former doesn't have a general answer. ![]() I found two questions on here about how to do it, but they're both from about 7 years ago: for android 5.1.1 and android 5. I have the emulator up and working, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to install different WebView versions. I need to test a few specific WebView versions that are apparently throwing errors for my website viewers. ![]()
